CSI, a global leading supplier of closures for consumer and industrial products, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and automotive fluids applications, was experiencing growing demand for its cutting-edge closure solutions and needed to increase
production and optimize operations.
Due to a labor-intensive manual manufacturing process, the company was experiencing up to 10 percent downtime while the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) goal was 2.5 percent downtime. To meet their target OEE, the company brought in Motion Controls Robotics Inc. (MCRI), a FANUC ASI, to produce an automated solution using a number of FANUC robotics.
With automating the material handling processes, the amount of downtime has been drastically reduced and now the company meets its OEE goal of 97.5 percent efficiency. Moreover, after just six months employing the automation solution created by MCRI using
FANUC robots, CSI has experienced a 25 percent increase in output, which is approximately 30 million units per month.
