An advanced technology hub—diverse in industry and rich in cutting-edge
research—is taking root in Metro Detroit. Michigan’s Oakland County, home to
FANUC America’s Rochester Hills headquarters, is where this new ecosystem has
found its footing.
To further strengthen the collective efforts of tech companies based here and
foster the type of collaborative environment that will nurture additional
innovation, Oakland County has launched the
Oakland County Tech Collaboration.
This collaboration includes tech companies, innovators, suppliers, academic
institutions and county government creating connections and spurring economic
growth in robotics integration, IT and computer services, research,
engineering and design.
FANUC America is proud to serve as one of its five founding members, a role
titled “Keystone Company.”
“Oakland County’s rich automotive heritage has created a strong technology
foundation on which to build and evolve into the future,” says Dick Motley,
director of FANUC America’s Authorized System Integrator Network. “You don’t
need to look any further than the five founding ‘Keystone Companies’ for proof
of the successful technology foundation that exists here in Oakland County.”
The Keystone Companies include FANUC America, HTC Global Services, JR
Automation, OneStream, and RGBSI, representing a wide array of expertise
across industries, from cutting-edge research and product design to AI and
advanced IT software solutions. Their collective efforts will support the
retention and expansion of the tech industry, attract new talent, and foster a
collaborative environment that nurtures innovation and attracts new
investments.
“Oakland County is taking bold steps to establish itself as a national leader
in technology innovation by strengthening our strategic focus on research,
engineering and design, IT/computer services and robotics integration,” County
Executive Dave Coulter said.
